We are a 501c(3) public charity dealing with animal issues in Antrim County, Michigan.

WaLHFMF has plans for a sanctuary soon that will assist Antrim County agencies such as animal control by offering a place to hold pets that are in true emergency situations. That might be the pet's owner is hospitalized or dies suddenly, maybe a family’s home burns down and there is nowhere for the pets to go. This will not, be a place for the public to bring in a pet but it will be a place for the public to visit. WaLHFMF’s new sanctuary will offer adoption of pets that cannot be reunited with their owner, a place for the non adoptable pets to live out their lives and a place for schools and community groups to visit. Programs created to assist and educate the public with animal issues will be offered and of course, fun opportunities for volunteers.

WE WANT YOUR PETS!
We're going to try something new very soon. Walhfmf wants to see your pets, and let others see them too.
Just E-mail your picture along with some info about your best pal or pals, and we'll post it on a special page that we'll be setting up. Keep 'em coming, as we plan to rotate and update as time goes on. Please make sure that you have all rights to the pictures so we don't make anyone mad.

Adopting a friend:

All pets in WaLHFMF's care receive a spay or neuter, shots and are dewormed. A veterinary appointment must be made for the pet you are adopting with the vet of your choice for a pet check up and any follow up is the responsibility of the new owner. There is an adoption contract and WaLHFMF does follow up on the adoption.

If you would like more information or would like to receive WaLHFMF email updates, please call or email WaLHFMF with your request.

We are also looking for volunteers in the following areas:
Grants - Education - Website - Fundraising

Please, consider making a donation today so we can get this sanctuary up and running!

Donate a Bed
The floors of shelters are cold and a Kuranda bed would give the dogs a warm, elevated bed to lie on during cold nights. Some dogs already have beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. Please go to their website to donate a bed to shelter dog in your name or as a gift for a friend or family member. Kuranda will mail a personalized Gift Card acknowledgement directly to them.

Donate a Bed
Our cats love to sleep on Kuranda cat beds too, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another cat to sleep in comfort, please donate a Kuranda cat bed
